Friends of
Distinction

Located on the first floor of Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center
John W. Estabrook
The naming of Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center honors John W. Estabrook’s service to Methodist Health System.  As the former Methodist Hospital and Methodist Health System President/CEO, Mr. Estabrook’s vision led the way for excellence and created many ‘firsts’ for today’s Methodist Health System.
Located near the elevators on the third floor of the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center
Josie Harper
1925-1999
Josie Harper was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who lost her life to lung cancer.  Special gifts from The Harper Family Foundation established Josie Harper Hallways of Hope on the third floor of Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center and Harper’s Hope, Omaha’s first cancer survivorship program.  The gifts provided by the Harper family honor Josie’s memory while enhancing the quality of life for cancer survivors in the Omaha community.

It is through our SHAREholders’ spirit of giving that Methodist Hospital Foundation provides community members with excellence in health care and health care education. Methodist Hospital Foundation’s donor recognition program demonstrates our appreciation for our dedicated, loyal donors.

Engraved Bricks on the Walkways of Josie's Village
Here is your opportunity to commemorate your time at Nebraska Methodist College or honor the memory of someone special! By engraving a brick for the walkways located in Josie’s Village, you add to the history and charm of The Josie Harper Campus.

Friends of Distinction
Friends of Distinction are donors who have made exceptional gifts to Methodist Hospital Foundation. Beautiful glass photos of each Friend of Distinction are displayed in prominent areas throughout Methodist Health System.
Heart & Dove Society
The Heart & Dove Society recognizes donors whose lifetime giving totals $25,000 or greater. These special friends receive elegant bookends when they reach the $25,000 giving level. Members of the Heart & Dove Society are recognized on the Heart & Dove Wall where their names appear on a series of glass plates of varying sizes, representing the amount of the donor’s giving level. The Heart & Dove Wall is located in a prominent area of Methodist Hospital, and is often visited by guests, patients and employees.

Founding Friends Society
The Founding Friends Society recognizes the generosity of each donor whose lifetime giving totals between $1,000 and $24,999 between the years of 1977 and 2004. Members of the Founding Friends Society are recognized in alphabetical order on the Heart & Dove Wall.

Gifford Society

The Gifford Society recognizes special friends who remember Methodist Hospital Foundation in their estate plans. These friends have made gifts through a beneficiary designation in a will, trust, insurance policy, irrevocable life income arrangement, real estate or retirement plan. Each legacy will improve the quality of life for generations to come.

The Gifford Society is named in memory of one of the founding fathers of Methodist Hospital, Dr. Harold Gifford, Sr. His skillful touch and compassion towards his patients, as well as his generous giving spirit and vision for the future, led the way for excellence at Methodist Health System.

Circle of Friends
Every gift to Methodist Hospital Foundation makes a difference. Circle of Friends recognizes donors offering annual cash gifts of $100.00 or greater. These friends are invited to the annual Friends of the Foundation Celebration.

Gifts from the Heart

Gifts from the Heart is a commemorative giving program for gifts made in honor or in memory of someone special. After a gift has been made, Methodist Hospital Foundation sends a letter of acknowledgement to the family of the one remembered or to the person honored so that they are aware of the special gift.

Those honored or remembered with a Gift from the Heart are recognized in a commemorative album located at Methodist Hospital.

Naming Opportunities
You may want to honor an individual through a gift that names a scholarship, a program, a building or a portion of a building. We are pleased to discuss donor recognition with you and customize opportunities suited to your wishes.
