| The Gifford Society is named in memory of one of the founding fathers of Methodist Hospital, Dr. Harold Gifford, Sr.
His skillful touch and compassion towards his patients, as well as his generous giving spirit and vision for the future, led the way for excellence at Methodist Health System. Dr. Gifford’s fame as a ophthalmologist was worldwide and his generosity to his patients was well known. He founded the Fontenelle Forest Association and provided a summer camp for the Boy Scouts. Methodist Hospital board members called him “one of the fathers of our hospital. His contibutions in money, prestige and reputation are immeasurable. |
