Community Service in Omaha, Nebraska
Community Counseling Offers Answers
Jake has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD.
He struggles with grades, peers and impulse control. Prescribed medications help, but Jake needed both counseling and medication to stay on track.  Jake’s mother wondered how she could afford it.  She found the answer at the Community Counseling Program, a unique service that offers free professional counseling in schools and churches across Omaha.

The Heidi Wilke SANE/SART Survivor Program: Specialized Care for Victims of Sexual Assault
In January 2002, Heidi Wilke was kidnapped, robbed and raped after leaving a Richard Young board meeting. After her attack, Heidi wanted to help other survivors. The answer was to initiate something new to Omaha – a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Program at Methodist Hospital. This program provides immediate, compassionate and comprehensive care for rape survivors the moment they walk into the Emergency Department. Thanks to your support, more victims can seek help without fear or shame.
